Simurgh (Phoenix) is a fairy tale bird. A large human-like bird with saffron feathers and a beautiful voice, with a white ring on its long neck. He is the king of birds. He lives behind Mount Qaf.

According to the legend, one day the birds gather and set out to find their sultan. The road is long, the journey is difficult. First they pass through the "Sea of Love". They fly from the "Valley of Separation". They cross the "Plain of Ambition" and turn into the "Lake of Jealousy". Some of the birds dive into the Sea of Love, some break away from the herd in the Valley of Separation. Some get greedy and fall into the plain, some get jealous and sink into the lake. When the journey was over, only 30 birds could reach the back of Mount Kaf. They cannot find their sultan Simurg (Phoenix) there. In the end, words solve the mystery: Persian "si" means "thirty". “Ömurg” is “bird.” “30 birds” understand that the sultan they are looking for is themselves:

The true journey is the journey to oneself.
